Ο Φεβρουάριος ή Φλεβάρης είναι ο δεύτερος μήνας του έτους κατά το Γρηγοριανό Hμερολόγιο. Έχει 28 ημέρες, ενώ όταν το έτος είναι δίσεκτο έχει 29. Στα λατινικά η λέξη Φεβρουάριος (februarius) προέρχεται από το ουσιαστικό februum, που σημαίνει καθαρμός, κάθαρση, λόγω των θρησκευτικών εορτών εξαγνισμού και καθαρμού (Februa ή Februatio) που τελούνταν στη Ρώμη στη διάρκεια του μήνα. Τον Φλεβάρη ο λαός ονόμασε και Κουτσοφλέβαρο, γιατί κατά την παράδοση ο Μάρτης δανείστηκε απ’ αυτόν δυο ημέρες. 1 Φεβρουαρίου γιορτάζει ο άγιος Τρύφωνας θεωρείται φύλακας των αμπελιών.
